2. What we collect
- Vehicle and search data: your registration, postcode and selected services when you use the comparison form.
- Contact form data: name, email address, optional phone number and vehicle reg when you contact us via the enquiry form.
- Technical data: IP address, device, browser type, pages viewed and referring URL, collected via cookies and similar technologies subject to your consent (see our Cookies Policy).
- Marketing measurement data: conversion and traffic data collected through Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager and Google Ads, subject to your consent.
Note: Contact details required to complete a booking (name, email, phone) are collected by BookMyGarage on the booking page after you leave YourGarage, and are governed by BookMyGarage's privacy policy.

4. Marketing
We use Google Ads to promote YourGarage through search advertising. Subject to your consent, we use conversion tracking cookies to measure whether our ads lead to quote requests. We do not use remarketing, retargeting or personalised advertising. We do not sell, rent or share your contact details with third-party advertisers or data brokers. We do not add you to mailing lists without your explicit opt-in.
5. Who we share your data with
- BookMyGarage (The Motorists Organisation Ltd, company number 08339147, registered office 1000 Lakeside, North Harbour, Portsmouth PO6 3EN): our garage network partner. They receive your vehicle and booking details to generate quotes and pass your chosen booking to the garage you select. BookMyGarage's own privacy policy is available at bookmygarage.com/privacy.
- The partner garage you book: once you confirm a booking, the garage receives your name, vehicle, contact details and chosen services so they can carry out the work.
- Google (GA4, Google Tag Manager, Google Ads): analytics and conversion data, subject to your cookie consent.
- Cloudflare: CDN, security and performance optimisation.
- Formspree: processes contact form submissions on our behalf.
- Google Workspace: email hosting for [email protected] and [email protected].
- Authorities: where required by law or to protect our legal rights.
6. International transfers
Some of our processors (notably Google for analytics and Cloudflare for CDN and security) may transfer data to the United States or other locations outside the UK. Where they do, transfers are protected by UK Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK Addendum to the EU SCCs, or an adequacy decision.
7. How long we keep your data
- Contact form messages and enquiries: up to 24 months from last contact.
- Affiliate referral records (which link a completed booking to YourGarage as the referrer, for commission reconciliation): up to 6 years to meet HMRC accounting record retention requirements.
- Analytics data: per the GA4 retention setting (currently 14 months).
8. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights email [email protected]. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
We will respond to any rights request within one calendar month of receipt, as required by UK GDPR.
9. Security
We use industry-standard technical and organisational measures including TLS encryption in transit, access controls and least- privilege practices to protect your data.
In the event of a personal data breach that poses a risk to your rights, we will notify the ICO within 72 hours and, where the risk is high, notify you directly.
10. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the current version.
11. Affiliate relationship and data sharing
YourGarage operates as an affiliate of BookMyGarage (The Motorists Organisation Ltd). When you use the comparison form, your vehicle registration, postcode and selected services are passed to BookMyGarage to generate quotes. If you proceed to book, BookMyGarage collects your contact details directly. BookMyGarage may share relevant booking data back with us for commission reconciliation. 12. Automated decision-making
We do not engage in automated decision-making with legal or similarly significant effects.
13. Children
YourGarage is not directed at children under 18 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe we may have inadvertently collected data from a minor, please contact us and we will delete it.
